Age and Academic Requirements
Preschool, 3-year olds: the child must be three years of age prior to September 1 of the year for which admission is desired. Students must be toilet trained, communicate effectively for age, and be of sufficient maturity to derive benefit from the program.
Pre-kindergarten, 4-years old: the child must be four years of age prior to September 1 of the year for which admission is desired. Students must be able to use the restroom independently, and be of sufficient maturity to derive benefit from the program. Entrance is governed by testing by the school administration.
Kindergarten: The child must be five years of age prior to September 1 of the year for which admission is desired. Students must be able to use the restroom independently, manage their own clothing, and be of sufficient maturity to derive benefit from the program. Entrance is governed by testing by the school administration.
First Grade: The child must be six years of age prior to September 1 of the year for which admission is desired. Students applying for admission for first grade are required to submit a transcript of previous schooling, which must include grades and test scores. The Jordan School reserves the right to administer additional testing when deemed necessary.
Upper Grades: The child must have successfully completed the previous grade and demonstrate sufficient maturity and intelligence to benefit from the academic program. Students applying for admission are required to submit a transcript of previous schooling, which must include grades and test scores. School policy requires placement of the students in the grade level indicated by achievement test scores or other individualized testing.
